The road map for Penn State’s future is rooted in the University’s commitment to delivering the highest value to students, and to creating an environment that provides opportunities for growth and empowerment for all faculty and staff.
As Penn State updates and modernizes its model for higher education, the University is focusing its strategic efforts in five key areas: Investing in our people; building resources for our future; research excellence; academic excellence; and operational excellence.
In alignment with Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi’s vision and goals and the strategic planning process, the road map for Penn State’s future will be grounded in:

- Creating a sustainable future and modernized higher education model that provides room to innovate and to respond to unexpected challenges in agile ways.
- Prioritizing continued excellence in teaching, learning and research — preparing students for success, supporting employees in their career paths, and impacting the world.
- Embedding regular opportunities and processes in our operations to consistently evaluate and make decisions around strategic priorities, efforts and investments to drive continual growth and improvements.
